VideoGen MCP Server

OfficialRemoteby VideoGencreditsverified Oct 10, 2026

Script, voiceover or storyboard to finished video, plus clip, image, music and avatar generation.

What it does

VideoGen's official server wraps its whole API: four workflow tools turn a script, voiceover, slideshow or storyboard into an assembled video, and a media toolbox generates images, clips, speech, SFX, music and avatars, upscales stills and video, and strips backgrounds. Projects can be remixed and exported, and reusable entities keep a character or brand consistent across runs. For an agent it is a one-call rough cut for explainers and social pieces, not a narrative-film tool.

Field notes

Vendor-maintained (npm @videogen/mcp is published by videogen.io staff; v2.2.1 on 2026-09-15, MIT, repo pushed 2 Oct 2026) but brand new to the public: zero GitHub stars and submitted to MCP registries on 1 Oct 2026, so treat it as unproven. The hosted endpoint is stateless and reads your key from an Authorization header; the README also describes an OAuth 2.1 challenge for Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf and ChatGPT Apps, with a separate /mcp/chatgpt variant. Long jobs return immediately on the hosted server — the Cloudflare proxy caps request time — so the agent has to poll get_workflow_run or get_tool_execution. Free-plan output carries a VideoGen watermark; Pro removes it, and neither the docs nor the README publish per-call credit costs. The local stdio package needs Node 20+. Output skews toward templated explainer and social video; for an editable timeline compare invideo or martini, and for raw model access fal.
